Orlando has the highest number of local artists per capita in the country, providing more than 2.5 million artistic experiences each year. One-of-a-kind exhibits abound, such as the world's most comprehensive collection of Louis Comfort Tiffany stained glass at The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art.
Take in a performance by our very own professional opera, ballet and philharmonic orchestra or annual Broadway series. Shakespeare, repertory, fringe and marionette theatres are just of few of the many theatre offerings in Central Florida.
If Orlando's history and heritage intrigues you, visit The Orange County Regional History Center. Located in a historic 1920 courthouse, it traces the area's unique history with an array of interactive exhibits. The area's rich African-American history comes alive at the Zora Neale Hurston National Museum of Fine Arts and The Wells' Built Museum of African-American History.And there's more to come.
In 2014, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts will be complete in downtown Orlando. The 330,000 square-foot center will feature three theaters, an outdoor performance stage, a banquet room and educational facilities.
